The UHM Student branch of The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) is the professional society of EEs and CENGs. Benefits derived as a student member carry over into their professional career. One benefit is subscription to technical journals of specialized fields such as communications, instrumentation, microwaves, system theory, electron devices, and computers. Membership in the local chapter at the University would provide students the opportunity for fellowship.

Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is the national honor society for electrical engineers. The University has the Delta Omega Chapter, who are active in service including tutoring of electrical & computer engineering course subjects.

Engineers Council of the University of Hawai‘i (ECUH) is an organization comprised of members of all organizations in the College of Engineering. ECUH members have the responsibility to coordinate events within the College of Engineering for all disciplines and to promote communication between the three disciplines within the college.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to "Stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, demonstrate the value of diversity". Our College has a student branch.

Graduate Student Organization (GSO) stands to serve, advocate for, and support graduate students at UH Manoa; to foster community engagement; to facilitate positive change; and to encourage a Hawaiian place of learning. Its purpose is “to provide classified graduate students, through the graduate programs, with official representation at the University of Hawaii at Manoa” (Constitution of the GSO).
